Channie & Danny’s Yosemite National Park wedding was definitely one to remember. I was able to learn about an entirely different culture than my own, and it was so much fun to document their day! As an intimate wedding/elopement photographer, I want to make sure all my couples feel welcome. Channie & Danny had nothing but smiles on their faces throughout the entirety of their wedding, which made me so happy.
Channie and Dannie’s marriage was technically not an approved one. Danny is Mexican and Channie is Indian, and in her culture, intercultural marriages aren’t allowed. C & D chose love over religion and decided to marry each other despite everything. They had a traditional Indian ceremony at home before their Yosemite National Park wedding with their closest friends and family! Their close friends and extended family met Danny down the street at a family members house where they had traditional welcoming Indian parade. They walked down the street with a live band and it was a beautiful and fun experience to have been apart of.
I loved photographing the entire getting ready process before their ceremony. Channie’s henna was gorgeous, and her jewelry was stunning as well. After their ceremony, we headed to Yosemite to photograph their portraits! I love how Channie trusted me and my expertise in Yosemite to help pick the perfect location, and never questioned me with any prompts or poses. It means the world to me when my couples have faith in me as their wedding photographer.
