I loved hanging out with Raquel and Garrett so much during their Sand Dunes engagement photos! I don’t get to shoot here often, but when I do, it’s always worth it. Plus, Raquel and Garrett are a couple I’ve worked with in the past. I love when I get to work with clients multiple times because they already know me and are used to my crazy self. So excited to share these beautiful photos!
R & G’s Sand Dunes engagement photos
I had the honor of capturing Raquel & Garrett’s gender reveal back in December (check out the full blog here!) and now here we are again. But this time for their engagement photos! When I saw that they were engaged, I was so happy and excited for them. Not long after Garrett popped the question, Raquel reached out to me to see what my 2023 availability was. I’ve had multiple clients reach out and check in with me before booking their venue, and it’s the best feeling every time! I love when people appreciate my work so much that they want to make sure I’m available before making any final decisions for their wedding. Plus, I get to help them plan and coordinate from the start!
Once I gave her my availability, she booked me for her wedding right away. I had to patiently wait until their sweet baby arrived to take their engagement photos. And of course, the wait was so worth it for these two. When it was finally time to take their Sand Dunes engagement photos, I was so excited to get them in front of my camera again! They came totally camera-ready, and I knew it was going to be a perfect session.
They both chose to wear black for their engagement session, which provided such a perfect contrast against the Sand Dunes. Like, how gorgeous do they look?! One thing I know from previously photographing them is that Garrett isn’t the most photo-loving person. Most men aren’t, so I’m used to making it fun for them! I made sure to tease him a bit throughout the session to get him to loosen up and have a good time. If you’ve been a client of mine, you know I like to have fun!! My sessions aren’t stiff or boring, and I always try and make you feel comfortable. For example, R & G are big country music fans, so we played their favorite jams all throughout our time together!
We definitely got a workout during their Sand Dunes engagement photos, but it was so worth it. After some time in their black outfits, they changed into more casual ones to finish off the evening. We had so much fun together catching up, chatting about life, talking about wedding plans, and listening t music. It seriously felt like we were just old friends hanging out – and that’s exactly how I want all my couples to feel during their session.
