Top 5 Big Sur Wedding Venues

Informational

California offers SO many incredible places to get married, from mountains and forests to coastlines and cliff sides! Big Sur, the gorgeous stretch of mostly undeveloped coastline between San Simeon and Carmel, has all of the rugged, natural features that outdoorsy couples could wish for! If you’re already doing research about outdoor wedding spaces, you know there are a TON to choose from. Well lucky for you, I’m pretty familiar with Big Sur wedding venues, and these are my top five picks. My urban-minded couples, don’t worry! There’s something on this list for everyone, whether you’re going for rustic or modern. Let’s explore them together!

Big Sur Lodge

Tucked into the redwood forests of Pfeiffer Big Sur State Park, Big Sur Lodge is a natural haven. Just steps away from the Big Sur River, waterfalls, and Pacific Coastline, Big Sur Lodge offers four different indoor and outdoor venues accommodating up to 120 guests. Their lodging options are rustic yet modern, with family-style rooms furnished with kitchenettes and fireplaces. Big Sur Lodge offers a variety of packages, so you can find the one that best suits your wedding wishes!

Ragged Point Inn

If you want stunning Central Coast ocean views, Ragged Point Inn is definitely worth checking out. Just an hour away from San Luis Obispo and 30 minutes from Cambria, you have the option to explore other destinations on the Central Coast if you choose to stay there! Ragged Point is tucked away in one of the most beautiful spots in California, so you won’t have to worry about privacy at Ragged Point Inn. They have multiple on-site venue options for a wide variety of spaces to choose from! By far one of my favorite Big Sur wedding venues.

Glen Oaks Big Sur

If you envision getting married among the majestic redwood trees, then Glen Oaks Big Sur is the ideal wedding venue for you. To me, this is the most peaceful and serene of all the Big Sur wedding venues on this list! Glen Oaks Big Sur offers a variety of different wedding venue spots for up to 100 guests. Their back terrace is one of my favorites. It’s decorated in hundreds of twinkle lights, so the party doesn’t need to stop when the sun goes down! From the quaint Adobe Motor Lodges to the cabins, cottages, and the grand Bridge House, Glen Oaks has plenty of options for your guests to stay nearby.

Ventana Big Sur

With five different settings, ranging from an intimate forest to overlooking the expansive vistas of Big Sur, Ventana offers the luxury of choice. Ventana is the perfect option if you have a long guest list, because each setting ranges in capacity from 70-200 guests. Since the venue is actually a full-blown resort, it’s perfect for a full wedding weekend. Surprise! Ventana also offers glamping, with canvas tents set up along a 20-acre canyon! And, if you’re looking for some r&r before or after the big day, Ventana even has a full-service spa!

The Holly Farm

Perfect for that elegant jungle vibe, The Holly Farm is a tropical oasis retreat! Located in Carmel, this private estate is such a hidden gem. The grounds are like a secret garden, with cottages tucked away in corners and shaded by towering palms and banana trees. The Holly Farm thinks of everything for couples and offers a variety of wedding packages. Bonus: sleeping accommodations are included for up to 24 people! Don’t worry, the estate itself can host groups of up to 250, so this one’s for all of you couples who can’t narrow down your guest list! One of my absolute FAVORITE aspects of this venue is that they fill every space with hundreds of island orchids. The tropical vibes are SO *on point*!
